HARTLAND LAKESIDE SCHOOL DISTRICT – LEARNING TARGETS
In the 2010 – 2011 school year, the Hartland Lakeside School District began implementing learning targets in each content area. The learning targets articulate the expected learning outcomes for students at each grade level. Learning targets are assessed and monitored using district developed assessments. During the same school year, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction joined 41 other states to adopt Common Core Standards in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Language. These Standards, created by teachers, parents, and educational experts throughout the country, were developed to increase Wisconsin’s rigor, global competitiveness, and overall richness of core curricular areas.
The Hartland Lakeside School District learning targets and common assessments align with the Common Core Standards. This document outlines the learning targets for the 2017 – 2019 school year that increase the rigor, focus, and coherency of our curriculum.
